Base Worker Pals
Best base Pals by work suitability: who to assign to Kindling, Mining, Handiwork, and the rest, early and late.
At a glance
| What this is | Each Pal has one or more of eleven work suitabilities, rated 1 to 5. Assign matching Pals via the Palbox. |
| The eleven jobs | Kindling, Watering, Planting, Generating Electricity, Handiwork, Gathering, Lumbering, Mining, Medicine Production, Cooling, Transporting. |
| First priority | Cover Kindling, Watering, Handiwork, and Transport before chasing rare Pals. |
| Control tool | Monitoring Stand (level 14 tech) lets you pin Pals to specific stations. |
Best Pal by job
Work-level numbers below are from guides and should be spot-checked against the live Paldeck, since patches adjust them.
| Job | Early pick | Late / best pick |
|---|---|---|
| Kindling | Foxparks | Blazamut (Kindling around level 3); any strong Fire Pal for furnaces |
| Watering | Pengullet or Teafant | High-tier Water Pals such as Jormuntide |
| Planting | Grass farmers | Lyleen, Petallia |
| Handiwork | Anubis (standout best, very high speed) | Anubis |
| Transporting | Wumpo | Wumpo, Wumpo Botan |
| Mining | Ditoise (catchable ~level 18 to 19, Mining level 3) | Blazamut (best miner, Mining around level 4); Anubis also mines well |
| Lumbering | Eikthyrdeer (partner skill boosts wood) | Eikthyrdeer |
| Generating Electricity | Electric Pals | Grizzbolt, Orserk |
| Cooling | Ice-type Pals | Ice-type Pals for refrigeration |
| Generalists | Bushi Noct (nocturnal, diverse jobs) | Celesdir, Hartalis (both level 4 across several jobs) |
Do this in order
- Catch a Foxparks for Kindling so your Primitive Furnace runs.
- Add a Pengullet or Teafant for Watering, then a generalist like Lamball or Cattiva for Handiwork and Transport chores.
- Unlock the Monitoring Stand at level 14 and pin each Pal to the station you want.
- Slot Ditoise for early Mining, then upgrade to Blazamut once you can catch or breed one.
- Bring Anubis online for Handiwork as soon as possible; it is the single biggest base speedup.
- Fill Electricity (Grizzbolt or Orserk) and Cooling (an Ice Pal) as your tech tier climbs.
Watch out for
- Do not overgrow the base. More slots mean more food, beds, and task pressure. A base full of combat-only Pals stalls production.
- Some Pals have a bad temperament or eat too much. Check food upkeep, not just work level.
- Exact per-Pal work levels shift between patches. Confirm in-game.
