Hitch Build (Hera)
Hera's Hitch links enemies so damage spreads between them. Pair one strong single-target source with Hitch to clear whole rooms at once.
At a glance
| Status | Hitch (Hera): links enemies so damage on one spreads to the others. |
| Comes online | When you have a Hera boon applying Hitch plus a separate damage source to feed it. |
| Core boon | Hera Attack or Special applying Hitch, plus a damage status to spread. |
| Good weapons | Sister Blades and Argent Skull for focused single-target output. |
What this build is
Hera’s Hitch links a group of enemies. Damage dealt to one linked enemy spreads to the rest, so a strong single-target hit becomes room-wide clear. Hera also raises boon rarity and supports family and essence synergies, which makes the rest of your run roll better. The plan is one focused damage source plus Hitch to share it everywhere.
Gods and boons to prioritize
| Priority | God | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Core | Hera (Hitch) | Apply Hitch to link enemies. This is the spreader. |
| Damage to spread | Hestia (Scorch), Zeus (Blitz), or strong Attack boons | A concentrated source whose damage Hitch shares across the link. |
| Rarity | Hera rarity boons | Hera can raise boon rarity, improving your whole build. |
| Support | Athena (deflect) | Survivability while you set up the link. |
A Hera Duo that strengthens the link or the spread is strong. Names move with patches, so take the archetype: a Duo that amplifies how Hitch shares damage.
Daedalus Hammer to look for
Take the Hammer that boosts your single-target damage or adds a heavy hit, since Hitch multiplies that hit across every linked enemy. Raw per-hit power scales the whole room here.
Arcana Cards note
Favor cards that raise boon rarity, which compounds with Hera’s own rarity boost. See Arcana Cards.
Keepsake and Hex
- Keepsake: the Keepsake that boosts Hera’s appearance, to lock Hitch and the rarity boost early.
- Selene Hex: a Hex that gathers or holds enemies so more of them are linked at once. See Selene and Hexes.
Do this in order
- Take the Hera boon that applies Hitch on your main hit.
- Add a concentrated damage source (Scorch, Blitz, or a strong Attack boon).
- Apply Hitch to a cluster, then pour damage into one linked enemy.
- Use Hera rarity boons and rarity Arcana to upgrade the rest of your run.
- Add deflect for safety while you set up links.
- Use the Hex to bunch enemies before applying Hitch.
Watch out for
- Applying Hitch with no real damage to spread. You need a concentrated source.
- Hitting unlinked enemies. Set the link first, then commit damage.
- Letting the link expire mid-clear.
Tier and “strong” claims shift with balance patches.
