Campaign to Maps
The act order and the jump from campaign to the Atlas endgame, on one page. Current Early Access build (0.5.x).
At a glance
| Version | Early Access, Content Update 0.5.x “Return of the Ancients,” live since May 29, 2026. Version-sensitive. |
| Playable now | 4 acts plus interlude content, then the Atlas endgame. Full 1.0 plans 6 acts. |
| Spine | Campaign acts, then interludes, then the Ziggurat Refuge, then the Atlas of Worlds. |
| Ascendancy | Earned through Trials, not automatically. Act 2 and Act 3 give your first 4 points. |
| Rough length | Campaign estimates run 20 to 30 hours for the current acts. May be outdated. |
The full 1.0 release is targeted for late 2026. Because this is Early Access, the exact act count, zone names, and boss names are version-sensitive. Read patch notes before starting a new character.
The act order
| Stage | Region theme | Milestone |
|---|---|---|
| Act 1 | Coastal forest and town, drowned and undead | Ends at a major act boss |
| Act 2 | Vastiri desert and mining regions | Trial of the Sekhemas unlocks your Ascendancy |
| Act 3 | Jungle and wetlands | Ends at Doryani, Royal Thaumaturge; Trial of Chaos available |
| Interludes | Bridge content after the acts | Replaced the old second run on Cruel difficulty |
| Ziggurat Refuge | Endgame hub with the Map Device | Unlocks after finishing the campaign |
| Atlas of Worlds | Map based endgame | Waystones open Maps; Atlas passives and pinnacle bosses live here |
Older overview sources still say “complete the campaign through Cruel difficulty.” That reflects the old structure and is outdated. The current build is described as 4 acts followed by 3 interludes.
Ascendancy Trials (do these on time)
| Trial | Where | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Trial of the Sekhemas | Act 2, entered with a Djinn Barya | Ascendancy plus points 1 and 2 |
| Trial of Chaos | Act 3 | Points 3 and 4 |
| Higher Trials | Endgame | Points 5, 6, 7, and 8 |
The Trial of the Sekhemas uses a resource called Honour. You lose Honour when hit and the run ends if it hits 0, so avoiding damage matters. Exact level gates may be outdated.
The campaign-to-Atlas jump
- Finish the acts and interludes.
- Arrive at the Ziggurat Refuge, which holds the Map Device.
- Insert a Waystone into the Map Device to open a Map, a randomized zone with its own monsters, modifiers, and often a boss.
- Waystones come in 15 tiers that set Map level and difficulty. May be outdated.
- Spend Atlas passive points on the separate Atlas passive tree as you progress.
- Clear Precursor Towers to reveal more Atlas and insert Precursor Tablets that buff nearby Maps.
Do this in order
- Level through Act 1 and get your first skill and support gems working.
- In Act 2, run the Trial of the Sekhemas to unlock your Ascendancy.
- In Act 3, run the Trial of Chaos for two more Ascendancy points; beat Doryani.
- Play the interludes to bridge into the endgame.
- Reach the Ziggurat Refuge and open your first Map with a Waystone.
- Push the Atlas: passive points, Precursor Towers, and pinnacle bosses.
Watch out for
- Do not leave Trials for later. Missing your Act 2 Ascendancy leaves you badly underpowered.
- Resistance penalties stack as you progress the acts. Cap fire, cold, and lightning before each act boss.
- The act count and zone names change between patches. Confirm against the live game.
