Crit Build (Artemis)
Stack Artemis critical chance and crit damage so your hits spike, best on weapons that land many shots.
At a glance
| Damage source | Critical hits, from Artemis’s added crit chance and crit damage. |
| Comes online | Once you have an Artemis crit boon on your main damage action. |
| Core boon | An Artemis boon that adds critical chance to your Attack, Special, or Cast. |
| Good weapons | High hit-count weapons like the Heart-Seeking Bow and Adamant Rail. |
Crit is a multiplier on hits that roll critical. More hits and more crit chance mean more crits, so this build wants weapons that land a lot of shots.
Gods and boons to prioritize
| Priority | God | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Artemis | Add crit chance to your main action, then take her boons that raise crit damage. The core of the build. |
| 2 | Athena | Deflect for survival, and her boons fold cleanly into a crit plan. |
| 3 | Hermes | More attack speed means more hits, which means more crit rolls. |
Pom your crit boon and any boon that raises crit chance. More chance compounds with high hit-count weapons.
Payoff to aim for
Artemis has crit-focused Duos with other gods and a Legendary for committing to her. Exact Duo and Legendary names are flagged to verify, so aim for the archetype: a Duo that converts hits or a status into guaranteed or bonus crits, or Artemis’s Legendary once you hold enough of her boons. Take it when your second god lines up.
Keepsake
- Artemis’s keepsake adds a flat crit chance and makes her boons appear early. It does double duty for this build.
- Swap to a defensive keepsake at a region transition if survival is shaky.
Do this in order
- Equip Artemis’s keepsake for the early crit chance and to find her boons.
- Pick a high hit-count weapon (Bow or Rail) so crits roll often.
- Take an Artemis crit boon on your main damage action.
- Add Athena Deflect for defense.
- Pom crit chance and crit damage boons.
- Take Hermes attack speed, and grab a crit Duo or the Artemis Legendary if your gods line up.
Watch out for
- Low hit-count weapons get few crit rolls. This build wants volume.
- Crit is chance-based, so single big hits are streaky. Lean on attack speed to smooth it out.
- Do not split into a second damage source. Stack crit instead.
- Skipping defense. Crit does nothing to keep you alive.
